Road users on Fraser Highway between 140 Street and 96 Avenue in Surrey should be aware the corridor remains fully closed around the clock through September 7, 2026.
The Surrey Langley SkyTrain traffic update published July 24, 2026, says the closure supports delivery and lifting of large components for the future SkyTrain guideway near the Green Timbers station site.
What road users should do
Use 96 Avenue as the alternate route. Follow detour signs and traffic control personnel. Expect delays and increased noise in the area, particularly during overnight work hours.
Full closure through September 7
Fraser Highway between 140 Street and 96 Avenue is closed to all traffic 24 hours a day, seven days a week:
- August 3, 2026 (10 p.m.) through September 7, 2026
The weekly traffic advisory published August 28 confirms the closure remains in effect with no access.
Overnight closures through December 20
After the full closure ends September 7, overnight closures continue on the same section:
- September 7 to December 20, 2026
- 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly
Overnight work will occur throughout this period, including weekends and statutory holidays. Cranes and equipment will be in operation.
Who is affected
The closure affects drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians travelling on Fraser Highway between 140 Street and 96 Avenue. This area is near Green Timbers Urban Forest and Surrey Memorial Hospital.
This Fraser Highway closure is separate from the Industrial Avenue and 203 Street intersection closures in Langley, which involve different dates and a different work location.
