188 Street at Fraser Highway will have no access to or from Fraser Highway on September 25, 28, 29 and October 1 and 2, 2026, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Surrey Langley SkyTrain is doing construction and electrical work for new traffic signals at the intersection.
This is an update to the earlier September 11 window. The Surrey Langley SkyTrain revised traffic update posted September 15, 2026, and the official revised PDF map, set the new dates and hours.
What road users should know
Closure: No access to or from 188 Street and Fraser Highway on the listed dates.
Window: September 25, 28, 29 and October 1 and 2, 2026.
Hours: No access from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Construction activity can run Monday to Saturday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. No traffic pattern changes on weekends.
Alternate route: Use 68 Avenue.
Local access: Business and residential access will be maintained. Cyclists and pedestrians should follow signs and traffic control.
October 5 and 6, 2026: Traffic control personnel will support all traffic movements through the intersection while work continues. That is not a full access closure like the September 25 through October 2 dates.
Fraser Highway: Expect single-lane traffic in each direction through the work area. Plan extra time.
Transit: Check TransLink for bus impacts in the area.
Who is affected
Drivers who use 188 Street at Fraser Highway need the 68 Avenue alternate on Friday September 25 and on the later listed weekdays. This revised window replaces the earlier September 14 to 25 schedule that Trends Today already covered. Today, Friday September 25, is the first date on the revised list.
