From October 27 to November 8, 2026, Surrey Langley SkyTrain overnight and weekend work at 140 Street and Fraser Highway in Surrey runs 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., with no through access on 140 Street north and south of Fraser Highway, right turn only from southbound 140 Street to westbound Fraser Highway, and a detour at 96 Avenue. Official map included.
140 Street at Fraser Highway in Surrey loses its overnight through route starting Tuesday, October 27, 2026. A launching gantry, the Surrey Sprinter, is installing the guideway for the future SkyTrain at 140 Street, and Surrey Langley SkyTrain says overnight and weekend work will run from October 27 to November 8, 2026, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
The project posted a traffic update on October 22 with a detailed notice and map.
The notice also says Fraser Highway between 140 Street and 96 Avenue will remain closed overnight, so at night the green loop on the map, 96 Avenue to King George Boulevard to 100 Avenue, is the way around the future Green Timbers Station rather than either road through it.
What to know
October 27 to November 8, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.: No through access on 140 Street north and south of Fraser Highway. Right turn only from southbound 140 Street to westbound Fraser Highway.
Detour: Northbound traffic on 140 Street will be detoured at 96 Avenue. Access to Laurel Drive is via eastbound Fraser Highway and southbound 140 Street.
October 29 is different: On that date the notice lists westbound traffic only on Fraser Highway between Whalley Boulevard and 140 Street, through access on 140 Street at Fraser Highway, and access to Laurel Drive via southbound 140 Street.
Alternate routes: 96 Avenue, 100 Avenue and King George Boulevard.
Impacts: Overnight access changes, intermittent stoppages of up to two minutes for deliveries, and a temporary increase in noise. The project says noise mitigation will be in place, including shutting off equipment when not in use, and lighting will be directed towards the work site. Timelines are subject to change.
