Falcon Drive narrows to one northbound lane at Guildford Way Oct. 6 to 8

Falcon Drive narrows to one northbound lane at Guildford Way Oct. 6 to 8

Falcon Drive just south of Guildford Way in Coquitlam will be down to one northbound lane at the intersection from Tuesday, October 6 to Thursday, October 8, 2026. City crews are doing utility maintenance there between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day, weather permitting.

The City of Coquitlam notice, posted October 4, 2026, and its official location map set out the work area and the lane change.

It's a short job compared with the other Coquitlam closure starting the same day: Dewdney Trunk Road between Cawthra Court and Pier Drive shuts to vehicles for about four months.


What road users should know

Where: Falcon Drive, just south of the Guildford Way intersection. The City map marks the work area in red on the east side of Falcon Drive, running south from the intersection.

When: Tuesday, October 6 to Thursday, October 8, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The City says the dates are weather permitting.

Drivers: Northbound traffic is reduced to a single lane at the intersection.

Pedestrians: People walking are re-routed to the west side of Falcon Drive.

Plan ahead: The City asks drivers to pick another route or allow extra time, follow construction speed limits, watch for crews and heavy machinery, and obey signs and traffic personnel.


Who is affected

Anyone driving north on Falcon Drive toward Guildford Way during the workday from Tuesday to Thursday should expect a slower approach to the intersection. If you walk this stretch, cross to the west side before you reach the work area. Evening and early morning trips should be unaffected based on the posted hours.
