Dewdney Trunk Road between Cawthra Court and Pier Drive in Coquitlam will be fully closed to all road users, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, starting Tuesday, October 6, 2026. The City of Coquitlam says the closure is expected to remain in place for approximately four months for the Metro Vancouver Dewdney Trunk Water Main Project.

The City of Coquitlam road closure notice posted October 4, 2026, and its official location map set the closed section and detours.

This is a bigger change than the earlier stage of the same project: the August work between Locarno Drive and Cawthra Court kept single-lane alternating traffic moving, while this stretch closes to vehicles entirely.
