East Sixth Avenue between McBride Boulevard and Cumberland Street in New Westminster has single-lane alternating traffic between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., as needed, until October 23, 2026. The City says final works on its East Sixth Avenue Traffic Safety Improvements are underway, and the corner of McBride Boulevard and East Sixth Avenue will be repaved on October 23.
The City of New Westminster roadworks update, dated October 9, sets out the dates and hours. The City's official overview plan shows the work area along the front of the təməsew̓txʷ Aquatic and Community Centre.
The single-lane window starts at 9 a.m., after the morning rush, so midday trips are the ones to pad, especially drop-offs at the aquatic centre, where the City already tells facility users to arrive early for programs and lessons.
