What TransLink fares cost after the July increase

TransLink's current fare page says Metro Vancouver transit fares increased by an average of **5%** on **July 1, 2026**. A live capture of the page on **July 19** listed the fare table below, so the useful question is what each common ride now costs. The short version: buses are still a **1-Zone fare all day**, single fares are valid for **90 minutes**, and TransLink's fare-zone page says trips after **6:30 p.m. on weekdays**, on weekends, and on statutory holidays are treated as **1-Zone** fares. For commuter rail, DayPasses are not valid on West Coast Express. ## The current single-fare numbers Adult cash and contactless fares now show as **$3.50** for 1 Zone, **$5.10** for 2 Zones, and **$6.70** for 3 Zones. TransLink's page shows the July 1 increases as **+$0.15**, **+$0.25**, and **+$0.10**, respectively. Adult Compass Stored Value is lower: **$2.85**, **$4.20**, and **$5.40** for the same zone levels. The July 1 increases shown beside those amounts are **+$0.15**, **+$0.20**, and **+$0.30**. Concession fares are listed at **$2.30** for 1 Zone, **$3.40** for 2 Zones, and **$4.60** for 3 Zones, including both cash and Stored Value. TransLink says concession fares apply to HandyCard holders, seniors **65 and older**, and youth **13 to 18** with valid photo ID proving age. Useful fare checks: - **Adult monthly pass**: $117.20 for 1 Zone, $156.70 for 2 Zones, and $211.65 for 3 Zones - **Concession monthly pass**: $66.95 for all zones - **Adult DayPass**: $12.55 for all zones - **Concession DayPass**: $9.75 for all zones ## The planning details that still matter The zone rules did not become simpler just because the fare table changed. SkyTrain can require 1, 2, or 3 Zones before 6:30 p.m. on weekdays, while SeaBus can require 1 or 2 Zones. Buses and HandyDART remain 1-Zone trips at all times. Airport trips are the main extra check. TransLink's current page says journeys starting at **YVR-Airport**, **Sea Island Centre**, or **Templeton** stations include a **$6.50 YVR Airport AddFare** at all times, unless an exemption applies. One practical warning for bus riders: TransLink says cash fares on buses are not transferable to SkyTrain, West Coast Express, or SeaBus.
