Getting in by car means Whalley Boulevard or 140 Street, and that now holds until mid-December. Crews are installing the elevated guideway for the Surrey Langley SkyTrain, so the closure is in effect 24/7, with work Monday to Saturday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The project's updated traffic notice, posted October 28, 2026, replaces its October 5 notice, which had the access change ending October 30.

What changed

The October 5 notice said the change would be in effect "until October 30, 2026." The October 28 notice says "until mid-December 2026." The project has not given an exact December date and says timelines are subject to change.

Walking and cycling

  • Cyclists and pedestrians can still use both sides of Fraser Highway.
  • The north-side path may stop for up to 15 minutes at a time when equipment is working near 138 Street.
  • The multi-use path on the south side stays open. The project calls it the recommended route through the area, including to King George Station.
