Coquitlam's City-Wide Garage Sale and Giveaway Event is this weekend. Sales run Saturday, Sept. 19, and Sunday, Sept. 20, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Home-sale registration closed at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 16, so this update is for shoppers and for households already on the City list.
The City of Coquitlam notice says registered addresses are added to the City's interactive map and promoted through its website and social channels. Use that map before you drive so you can cluster stops by neighbourhood.
Hours this weekend
- Saturday, Sept. 19: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Sunday, Sept. 20: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Participants could choose either day or both. The City says more than 2,299 households have taken part since 2014.
How to shop smarter
- Open the City's interactive garage-sale map and pick a corridor rather than crisscrossing town.
- Arrive early on Saturday. Popular streets fill fast after 9 a.m.
- Bring cash and a tote. Many sales still prefer cash for small items.
- Confirm what each listing flagged for sale or giveaway before you commit to a long drive.

Indoor option at Dogwood (Saturday only)
Apartment and condo shoppers can also visit the Dogwood Fall Swap and Sale at Dogwood's Centennial Pavilion on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Entry for shoppers is free. Seller table registration for Dogwood used Course ID 232811 and closed Wednesday, Sept. 16.
After the sale
If you are selling and have leftovers, the City points residents to its Guide to Donating Locally, Large-item Pickup for eligible curbside customers, the Waste Wizard tool, and the United Boulevard Recycling and Waste Centre donation options. Check those City pages for current rules before you load a vehicle.
