Road users at Pipeline Road and David Avenue should be ready for temporary signal outages as the City of Coquitlam continues Phase 2 of the Pipeline Road Upgrades.
The City of Coquitlam notice says the work is scheduled from Monday, August 24 to Friday, August 28. The schedule is weather permitting.
Where the work is scheduled
The Phase 2 upgrades include storm works and traffic signal upgrades at one Coquitlam intersection:
- Pipeline Road at David Avenue
The City describes the project as part of the Pipeline Road Upgrade Project for the David to Guildford section.
When crews are scheduled to work
The listed dates and hours are:
- Monday, August 24 to Friday, August 28
- 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The dates are weather permitting. The notice does not provide a different schedule for any of the five days.
What road users should expect
Coquitlam says the traffic signals at the intersection will be temporarily out of service during active work. Traffic personnel are expected to be in place to direct road users while the signals are out.
Crews will work on one corner of the intersection at a time. Pedestrian detours will be in place while work is taking place.
The City advises people using the route to plan an alternate route or allow extra time. Road users who continue through the intersection should follow the directions given by traffic personnel.
Construction-zone safety
The notice includes these reminders for drivers:
- Drive with extreme caution and follow construction speed limits.
- Keep a close watch for work crews and heavy machinery.
- Obey all construction signage and instructions from traffic personnel.
