The loop ramp from Highway 11 northbound to Highway 1 westbound is permanently closed as early as Thursday, September 10, 2026. Drivers who need that movement now make a left turn at a new temporary traffic signal and use the existing southbound on-ramp to Highway 1 westbound.
The B.C. Ministry of Transportation and Transit traffic notification dated September 4, 2026, posts the map and the replacement path. The climbing lane on Highway 1 westbound at Riverside Road is also closed under the same notice.
What road users should know
Permanent change: Existing loop ramp from Highway 11 northbound to Highway 1 westbound is closed for good. It will be replaced later as part of interchange improvements.
New movement: From Highway 11 northbound, turn left at the new temporary traffic signal to reach Highway 1 westbound via the existing southbound on-ramp. Follow the official map and on-site signs.
Also closed: Climbing lane on Highway 1 westbound at Riverside Road.

Who is affected
Anyone on Highway 11 northbound heading to Highway 1 westbound near Abbotsford needs the new signalized left-turn connection. Expect slower speeds through the cone zone and watch for traffic-control personnel.
This is separate from overnight Highway 1 diversions at the 264th Street Interchange (Sept. 10 to 14, 11 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.) and the final Mount Lehman westbound overnight pattern through Sept. 11.
